Ben Jaeger-Thomas – 41 Year Old Skate Every Day

This guy is awesome.  He started skating at 40 years old because he always wanted to!  What an inspiration to do something you’ve always wanted to do but never got around to….it’s never too late dudes!  Go to his YouTube page and check out his videos….he’s got quite a few under his belt now so you can watch his progression.  He reminds me of when I got back into skating around 30 years old (I’m 42 now) after being away for 12 years.  I was just constantly at the skatepark trying to learn tricks better than when I was a kid, so kickflip after kickflip, my goal was to make it as easy as an ollie.  I came close and was catching them higher than before but then when I switched decks, for some reason I couldn’t land them as much.  This video shows him collapsing after what seems like a million kickflip attempts…I remember having days like that…they can be exhausting.  He’s also an actor so that is an interesting part of his videos as well.  I wish I had filmed myself everyday to see my progression.  Unfortunately I only have footage of me as I was starting to learn tricks again, but not when I really was at my peak around 2006.  I’m hoping Ben’s videos will inspire me enough to squeeze out some time in my busy life to get back to skating again.  I miss the fun and the stress relief that it is.  Keep at it Ben!
